WATCH VIDEO: Another Collapsed Building in Lagos.

One person died and four rescued in a collapsed build in Lagos. One person was killed while the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) rescued four people from the two-storey building that caved in at Lagos State’s Ikoyi area.

The house being constructed along Glover Road caved in on Friday night and rescue workers are currently on the scene mixing the debris to save those insides.

The rescued survivors were taken to the hospital for treatment, according to rescue workers, although operations are underway to affirm if others are already trapped and immediately evacuate them.

The collapse was confirmed by a statement from Femi Osanyintolu, Director-General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA). He said first responders ‘ emergency response was activated while calling for calm from the area’s residents.

“A building collapsed in the afternoon at 4.10 pm today, Friday, November 1, 2019, at Glover Court Ikoyi. It is a two-storey building under construction.

LASEMA already activated the Lagos Emergency Response Plan for all first responders to move to the site of the collapsed building.

“Similarly, Lagosians within the vicinity of the incident have been enjoined to stay calm and allow emergency responders to do their job,” he asked.
