Tiwasage to appear in court over copyright violation.

On 5 November 2019, Tiwatope Savage a.k.a Tiwa Savage, Nigerian popular singer, will appear in court, either in person or by proxy, as an N205 million lawsuit filed against her by another rapper, Olumuyiwa Danladi a.k.a. Danny Young, on February 5th 2019.

Danny Young claims N205 million in damages against Salvage allegedly, with his musical work entitled ‘ ONE ‘ without any lawful authority, in the suit, which was labelled FHC / L / CS/230/2019 and still pending before Justice Mohammed Liman.

Danny Young, via his counsel, Mr Justin Ige, Creative Legal, claims for copyright infringement of the sum of N200 million for damages on Tiwa Savage and the former record label, MAVIN Records

He also cites N5 million as a compensation price and requests that the defendant be responsible for the profits of the use of the violating musical work ‘ ONE ‘
